MacBooks are one of the first choices for Developers and Designers for their work. No doubt Apple’s MacBooks are expensive but the feel and the speed are for real.

Let’s dive in. 🚀

For Developers 💻: Right now many developers are confused about buying the new M1 MacBooks and there are so many questions coming out regarding the software compatibilities.

My take would be to look for your own work environment first. There are so many videos coming out on GeekBench and other stuff. As a developer, always ask yourself why do you need a new machine?

If we talk about some basic and universal tools used in the dev world, a few of them are working perfectly fine on new M1 chips including VS Code, Git, Xcode, TensorFlow, iTerm, Node, MS Office, and many others.

Talking about Android Studio, Docker, HomeBrew, and Virtualization, they are still in the development stage to run on new M1 chips.

Personal opinion, I think the transition will not take much time because Apple machines are very popular and developers are working very hard to make a compatible version for the new M1 chips. Every company is working on its product to make it compatible.

If your machine is too old and you see speed, RAM, software/hardware issues, Apple MacBook M1 is a must-buy product and if you’re using your Intel or AMD machines and it runs everything smoothly, you can wait while all the transitions of the applications get done. Again, opinion can vary from person to person.

For Designers/Editors 🎨 : If we talk about the software for all the photography, videography, editing, and designing, I reckon almost all the popular products are compatible and have a version of the new M1 chip.

Popular software like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Affinity Designer, Photo, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch, Pixelmator Pro is running buttery smooth on new M1 chips.

Other software like Adobe Lightroom, After effects, Premier Pro, Figma, and AutoDesk are in their development stage. We will likely have a new M1 chip version soon later this year or by the early next year.

It’s pretty good if your work environment is based on this and you can easily render your 4K/6K content all over for editing pictures and videos and uploading it. Speed is a real hero in this new M1 chip. Trust me.

For Casual Gamers🎮: As we all know MacBooks are not made for gaming but with this new M1 chip, Apple is going really deep.

Literally, you can play Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and a bunch of other games at a good refresh rate. As Google Stadia, GeforceNow, and PS RemotePlay are yet to get compatible, soon games will be the next big thing on MacBooks.

Conclusion: These new M1 MacBooks are really fast and super dope. Apple has gone to the next level and it will impact all the leading industries in the laptop market. Now, Apple has good control of their Software with their hardware, and on top of it, they have their own applications that are used among developers and production people.

IF YOU’RE BUYING IT, YOU’RE SAFE. IF YOU’RE NOT BUYING IT, EVEN THEN YOU’RE SAFE.

Are you buying these new M1 chip macs? What excites you more and why you want to wait and buy it later?

Thanks for reading, everyone.
